Nestea European Championship Tour 2008 - First English Masters Final

1ère en Grande Bretagne avec une étape du Nestea European Beach Volleyball Tour à Blackpool (70 km de Manchester).

Beaucoup de grosses équipes européennes ont répondu présentes pour cette étape à l'enjeu très important pour la fédération britannique puisqu'il s'agit de susciter de l'engouement pour le beach volleyball méconnu dans le pays du football et du rugby. Et surtout il faut hisser des équipes britanniques vers le haut avant 2012 et les Jeux Olympiques de Londres.

Côté des compétitions, quelques surprises avec la surprenante élimination et 7eme place des Championnes d'Europe 2008 Laura Ludwig et Sara Goller et la présence des soeurs Nystrom en Finale. A noter les deux super derniers matchs de Vasso Karadassiou et Vicky Arvanity qui les hissent vers la Finale et qui prouvent que l'équipe est toujours l'une des meilleures du monde même si parfois les résultats restent irréguliers.

C'est Emmanouil Roumeliotis qui est heureux avec 3 équipes qu'il coach en Final Four, Koutroumanidou/Tsiartsiani (GRE), Arvanity/Karadassiou (GRE) et Nyström/Nysröm (FIN).

Chez les hommes, la Finale est sans surprise puique les champions d'Europe 2008, les néerlandais Nummerdor-Schuil sont en Finale. Ils rencontreront les suisses Heyer-Heuscher qui ont fait un excellent match en demi finale hier en maîtrisant les allemands Klemperer-Koreng.

Des Championnes d'Europe heureuses puisqu'en plus d'avoir gagné dans leur pays, Laura Ludwig et Sara Goller n'ont pas perdu un match et sont les leaders du Nestea European Championship Tour alors qu'il ne reste plus que l'étape anglaise de Blackpool et russe de Sochi.

Des Championnes sympathiques aux sourires qui en disent long sur le plaisir de jouer au Beach volleyball et à partager avec leurs amis, leurs familles et le public la joie d'avoir gagné leur 1er grand titre européen à 22 ans et 24 ans.

Il a quand même fallu batailler pour remporter la Finale face aux énergiques et motivées Norvegiennes, Nila Hakedal et Ingrid Torlen.

Il a aussi fallu que les allemandes se décrispent pour pouvoir jouer libérées ce qui n'arriva que vers le 12eme point alors que les Norvégiennes avaient décider de jouer sans rien avoir à perdre... la finale étant déjà un très bon résultat.

Les 2 équipes ont fait un match plein en défense et on compte pas moins de 26 digs (plongeons) dans le 1er set et 24 dans le 2eme set de la part des 4 joueuses. Il y a eu aussi une succession de services gagnants des 2 côtés avec quand même pas mal de services râtés du fait essentiellement du degré de prise de risque élevé des joueuses.

Cuts, spikes, digs, snakes... tout y était pour rendre cette finale inoubliable et de très haut niveau.

Bravo encore à Laura Ludwig et Sara Goller qui vont dorénavant régner sur l'Europe et dont on a pas fini d'entendre parler et merci aussi à Nila Hakedal et Ingrid Torlen sans lesquelles la Finale n'aurait pas été aussi passionnante.

 European Champions are happy to have won the title in their country and also because Laura Ludwig and Sara Goller didn't lost a match and are the leaders of Nestea European Championship Tour.

Smart champions with the smiles which say some long on the pleasure of playing Beach volleyball and to divide with their friends, their families and the public the joy to have won their 1st big European title at 22 years and 24 years.

It nevertheless was necessary to battle to gain the Final aginst energetic and the justified Norwegian ones, Nila Hakedal and Ingrid Torlen.

It was as necessary that the germans decontract themselves to be able to play released what not arrived that towards the 12th point whereas the Norwegian ones had to decide to play without anything to have to lose… the final being already very a good performance. The 2 teams made a full match in defense and one does not count less than 26 digs in the 1st set and 24 in the 2nd set on behalf of the 4 players.

There was also a succession of services gaining on the 2 sides with nevertheless not badly of missed services of the fact primarily of the degree of taking risk high of the players.

Cuts, spikes, digs, snakes… all was to make there this final unforgettable and of very high level.

Cheer still with Laura Ludwig and Sara Goller which henceforth will reign on Europe and which one did not finish to intend to talk and thank you also in Nila Hakedal and Ingrid Torlen without whom the Final would not have been also enthralling.

En direct d'hambourg

Nila Hakedal et Ingrid Torlen ont conquis le public allemand venu nombreux sur le central du Nestea European Championship Tour sur la superbe place du Rathausmarkt (mairie de Hambourg - superbe édifice neo-renaissance construit en 1886-1897).

Après une défaite au 3eme tour face aux soeurs Schwaiger, qui les a obligé à passer par le tableau de repêchage, Nila et Ingrid ont enchaîné une série de 3 bons résultats qui les conduit en demi finale.

En effet elles ont d'abord battu Kadijk-Mooren sur les courts annexes (utilisés lors du Championnat du Monde universitaire de Beach Volleyball la semaine dernière) avant de se rendre sur le central et sortir les Championnes d'Europe en titre et meilleures européennes au classement Mondial, les grecs Vasso Karadassiou et Vicky Arvanity.

Elles gagnent ce match grâce notamment à une envie de jouer et de gagner optimum symbolisée par les cris de joie et les accolades des Norvégiennes.

Chacune leur tour, Nila et Ingrid ont enchaîné les super défenses et surtout les très bons services ne laissant pas aux grecs une chance de revenir. C'était la première fois que Nila et Ingrid battaient les grecs.

Dans le match suivant les norvégiennes n'ont pas relaché la pression et se sont finalement facilement imposées 21-19 21-14 face aux belges Van Breedam-Mouha qui ont fait, une fois de plus, un excellent tournoi en se classant 5eme.

Du côté allemand, ce sont finalement Pohl-Rau et Ludwig-Goller qui vont se retrouver en demi finale à la suite d'un parcours différent.

Sara Goller et Laura Ludwig ont réussi un parcours presque parfait puisqu'elles gagnent tous leurs matchs mais en étant particulièrement crispées surtout lors de leur dernier match face aux belges Van Breedam-Mouha où elles l'ont échappé belle avec un match en 3 sets qui s'est fini sur un 15-13 qui a tenu en haleine le public.

Pohl-Rau quand à elles, il a fallu qu'elles passent par le repêchage après une défaite lors du 3eme tour face aux... belges.

C'est après une série de 3 bons matchs qu'elles finisent pas retrouver le dernier carré final.

After a defeat with the 3rd tower against the Schwaiger sisters, who obliged them to pass by the contenders bracket, Nila and Ingrid made a series of 3 good performances which leads them in semi finale.

Indeed they have beaten Kadijk-Mooren on the side courts (used at the time of the World Unversity Beach Volleyball Championship last week) before going on the central court and leaving the European Champions  in title and better European team in the world ranking, the Greeks Vasso Karadassiou and Vicky Arvanity.

They won this match grace in particular to an optimum desire for playing and for gaining symbolized by the cries of joy and the hugs of the Norwegian team.

Each one their turn, Nila and Ingrid connected super defenses and especially the very good services not leaving to the Greeks a chance to return.

it was the first time that Nila and Ingrid beat the Greeks.

In the match according to Norwegian the doesn't have slackening the pressure and finally easily were binding 21-19 21-14 against the Belgians Van Breedam-Mouha who made, once more, an excellent tournament while being classified 5th.

German side, it's finally Pohl-Rau and Ludwig-Goller which will be found in semi finale after a different road.

Sara Goller and Laura Ludwig made a success of an almost perfect course they won all their matches but while particularly being contracted especially at the time of their last match against the Belgians Van Breedam-Mouha with a match in 3 sets which it's finished on one 15-13 which held in breath the public.

Pohl-Rau when for them, one needed they pass by the contenders bracket after a defeat at the time of the 3rd round against… Belgian.

After a series of 3 good matches they qualified for the last final square.

 Nila Hakedal und Ingrid Torlen haben die auf die Zentrale von Nestea European Championship Tour auf der prächtigen Stelle Rathausmarkt gekommene erobert deutsche zahlreiche öffentlichkeit (Rathaus von Hamburg - prächtiges Gebäude neo-Wiederaufleben baut in 1886-1897).

Nach einer Niederlage an der 3. Umdrehung angesichts der Schwestern Schwaiger, die sie gezwungen hat, durch die Bergungtabelle überzugehen, haben Nila und Ingrid eine Reihe von 3 guten Ergebnissen verknüpft, die sie in Hälfte führt endgültig.

m Folgenden Spiel die norwegischen n' haben Arbeitsunterbrechung der Druck und schließlich leicht 21-19 21-14 angesichts der Belgier Van Breedam-Mouha aufgedrängt haben, das einmal mehr ein hervorragendes Turnier machten, indem es sich 5. klassifizierte.

Von der deutschen Seite Pohl-Rau es schließlich und Ludwig-Goller, das sich in Hälfte endgültig an der d'folge wiederfinden werden; eine andere Strecke.

Sara Goller und Laura Ludwig haben eine Strecke geschaffen fast vollkommenes sie gewinnen all ihre Spiele, aber indem sie bei ihrem letzten Spiel angesichts der Belgier Van Breedam-Mouha besonders besonders angespannt, wo sie schön mit einem Spiel in 3 Sätzen entkommen sind, die s' auf einem 15-13 beendet wird, der in Atem die öffentlichkeit gehalten hat.

Pohl-Rau, wenn an ihnen man gebraucht hat sie gehen durch die Bergung nach einer Niederlage bei der 3. Umdrehung auf… belgischen Art über. Ist nach einer Reihe von 3 guten spielen sie beenden, das letzte Endviereck wiederzufinden. Sorry if the translation is not perfect.

Les grosses équipes européennes femmes sont une fois de plus quasiment toutes présentes pour participer à la 2ème étape NECT.
Les conditions de jeu à St Polten sont idéales pour les joueuses qui disputent aujourd'hui les qualifications.
L'issue des qualifications va être encore dure pour certaines grosses équipes car on trouve dans ce tableau : Goller-Ludwig / Alcon-Matveeva / Koutroumanidou-Tsiartsiani / Graessli-Zumkehr et les 2 équipes de France Faure-Sarpaux, Gemise Fareau-Giordano.
Pas facile donc d'atteindre le Main Draw même si ces équipes ont facilement remporté ce matin le 1er tour.
A noter le choc de la journée que pourraient être la rencontre Goller-Ludwig vs Faure-Sarpaux au 3ème tour si les 2 équipes réussissent à gagner leur 2ème match qu'elles jouent en ce moment.

A l'image du tournoi masculin, la journée fut aussi mouvementée pour les équipes femmes.

Et dans cette tempête les équipes qui s'en sont le mieux tirées ce sont les brésiliennes Ana Paula-Shelda et Juliana-Larissa qui malgré des matchs pas faciles se sont qualifiées pour les demi finales.

Pour les Championnes du World Tour 2007 et du Circuito Banco do Brasil 2007, Juliana-Larissa, les deux matchs de la journée ont été durs et il a fallu des grandes Juliana-Larissa pour battre les allemandes Pohl-Rau 2-1 et surtout pour passer Talita-Renata qu'elles ont finalement battu 2-1 (10-21 21-16 15-8).

Pour Sara Goller-Laura Ludwig après un excellent match de 3ème tour, où elles gagnent contre les chinoises N°1 Tian Jia-Wang (N°2 au World Tour 2007) 2-0, elles sont finalement stoppées par Ana Paula-Shelda. Sara et Laura n'auront pas réussi à faire douter la paire la plus expérimentée du tournoi et perdront 2-0 (14-21 18-21).

Grandes perdantes de cette journée : Nat Cook-Tasmin Barnett qui jouent devant leur public et qui se classent 9ème, Rachel Wacholder-Tyra Turner qui terminent 13ème et surtout Maria Clara-Carol qui perdent du terrain pour la qualification olympique en terminant 13ème et en laissant Talita-Renata conforté leur statut de 2ème équipe brésilienne.

L'équipe qui a réussi la meilleure performance a été l'équipe Russe Uryadova-Shiryaeva qui terminent 9ème battues au dernier match par les N°2 chinoises Xue-Zhang Xi 2-0.

Enfin les américaines Branagh-Young, malgré le match perdu contre Talita-Renata, restent en course et surtout confortent leur place qualificative aux JO puisque les USA n'auront droit qu'à 2 équipes sur 4 équipes possibles.

 As the Men tournament, the day was also animated for the women teams. And in this storm the teams which are best drawn it is Brazilian Ana Paula-Shelda and Juliana-Larissa which in spite of matches not easy qualified themselves for the semi finales.

For the Champions of the World Tour 2007 and the Circuito banco do Brasil 2007, Juliana-Larissa, the two matches of the day were hard and it needed very good Juliana-Larissa to beat germans Pohl-Rau 2-1 and especially to pass Talita-Renata which they finally beat 2-1 (10-21 21-16 15-8).

For Sara Goller-Laura Ludwig after an excellent match of 3rd round, where they won against Chinese N°1 Tian Jia-Wang (N°2 in World Tour 2007) 2-0, they are finally stopped by Ana Paula-Shelda. Sara and Laura will not have succeeded in making doubt the most tested pair tournament and will lose 2-0 (14-21 18-21). Dans le Main draw féminin, cette première journée a été principalement marqué par la domination des équipes brésiliennes, chinoises et allemandes. En effet à la fin du 2ème tour, il restait 3 équipes brésiliennes, 2 équipes chinoises et 2 équipes allemandes.
c'est en particulier Juliana-Larissa, Shelda-Ana Paula et Ludwig-Goller qui ont été les équipes les plus en vue. Ces 3 équipes ont réussi de très bon match avec notamment Laura Ludwig-Sara Goller qui ont battu Boss-Ross au 2ème tour par 2-1 (18-21 21-18 15-12) ce qui constitue un très bon résultat pour les jeunes allemandes et Ana Paula-Shelda qui ont très largement battu Nat Cook-Tasmin Barnett, devant leur public, 2-0 (21-14 21-15).
Déception du côté canadien avec finalement une 25ème place pour les 2 équipes en course Marie André Lessard-Sarah Maxwell et Dana Cooke-Annie Martin.
In the women Main Draw, this first day was mainly marked by the domination of the Brazilian, Chinese and German teams. At the end of the 2nd round, there remained 3 Brazilian teams, 2 Chinese teams and 2 German teams.
It's in particular Juliana-Larissa, Shelda-Ana Paula and Ludwig-Goller who were the teams more in sight. These 3 teams succeeded of very good match with in particular Laura Ludwig-Sara Goller which beat Boss-Ross at the 2nd round 2-1 (18-21 21-18 15-12) which is a very good result for the young german team and Ana Paula-Shelda who beat easily Nat Cook-Tasmin Barnett, in front of their public, 2-0 (21-14 21-15).
Disappointment on the Canadian side with finally a 25th place for the 2 teams in race Marie Andre Lessard-Sarah Maxwell and Dana Cooke-Annie Martin.

Swatch Beach Volleyball World Tour 2007 - Fortaleza - Brazil - Kerri WALSH et Misty MAY trop fortes / Kerri WALSH and Misty MAY too strong

La Finale tant attendue, entre les 2 meilleures paires actuelles, n'a pas donné le spectacle que tous espéraient. Kerri WALSH-Misty MAY TREANOR ont dominé les brésiliennes (21-16 21-14) qui semblaient tétanisées devant leur public. JULIANA-LARISSA n'ont pas pu contrarier le jeu des Championnes du Monde et les empêcher de remporter leur 2ème victoire à Fortaleza.

Et pour montrer que le Beach Volley américain se porte bien, Elaine YOUNGS-Nicole BRANAGH ont dominé elles aussi la paire brésilienne SHELDA-BEHAR en leur infligeant le même 2-0 (21-16 21-14).

Carton plein pour les américaines et les brésiliennes qui se partagent 7 des 8 premières places ne laissant qu'une petite place à l'équipe européenne montante LUDWIG-GOLLER.

Final so waited, between 2 actually best pairs, did not give the show for which all hoped. Kerri WALSH-Misty MAY TREANOR dominated Brazilians (21-16 21-14) which seemed paralyzed in front of their public. JULIANA-LARISSA was not able to oppose the game of the World champions and to prevent them from winning their 2nd victory to Fortaleza.

And to show that the American Beach volleyball goes well, Elaine YOUNGS-Nicole BRANAGH dominated too the Brazilian pair SHELDA-BEHAR by imposing them the same 2-0 ( 21-16 21-14 ).Full victory for the Americans and the Brazilians which are divided 7 of the first 8 places leaving only a small place to the rising European team LUDWIG-GOLLER.
