TALITA, Rainha da praia 2008, a remporté le "Desafio das Rainhas" ce dimanche sur la plage d'Ipanema - plage du Beach Volleyball brésilien - devant un public déchainé. Avec sa partenaire habituelle, RENATA, elle a encore une fois brillé sur tous les plans du jeu tout en gardant son sourire légendaire.

La paire brésilienne a pourtant mal engagée le match puisque le premier set a été dominée, 21-11, par les américaines Misty MAY- Nicole BRANAGH qui semblait largement au dessus surtout à l'attaque et au service.

Lors du 2ème set alors que l'expérience de Misty MAY faisait la différence, mais RENATA en défense et TALITA au Block (2 block gagnant de suite sur Nicole BRANAGH) ont commencé à prendre logiquement le dessus ce qui leur a permis de gagner 21-18 alors qu'elles étaient menées 17-14.

Au dernier set les américaines ont montré une grande baisse de régime dû surtout à une condition physique pas encore au top. Résultat: les brésiliennes s'envolent et gagnent ce "Desafio" en remportant le 3 ème set 15-12.

Elles diminuent ainsi l'écart entre le Brésil et les USA sur la totalité des 5 Desafio entre les 2 nations : USA 3 BRESIL 2

A noter que RENATA déclarait après son match : "Même si elle ne jouait pas avec Kerri WALSH, battre Misty MAY est une motivation surtout de cette manière. Maintenant nous aurons cette victoire en tête losque l'on jouera contre elles. Cela a été une victoire fondamentale pour commencer une année aussi important pour nous".
