Swatch FIVB World Tour 2008 - Dubai Open - UAE - Hot tournament in an amazing city

L'open de Dubai a débuté une fois n'est pas coutume un dimanche avec un match de country quota féminin qui opposait 2 paires américaines habituées de l'AVP Tour, Lauren Fendrick-Ashley Ivy et Angie Ackers-Brooke Hanson.

Fendrick-Ivy rentre ainsi dans l'histoire pour avoir gagné le 1er match du 1er Open feminin aux Emirats Arabes Unis.

Nouveauté aussi, de nouvelles associations chez les américaines avec Tyra Turner qui jouera avec Nancy Mason au lieu de Rachel Wacholder et surtout la Championne Olympique, Kerri Walsh, qui tente l'expérience de jouer avec une des meilleures joueuses du circuit américain et mondial: Nicole Branagh. En effet Misty May participait jusqu'à Lundi dernier au show "Dancing with the stars" qu'elle finalement abandonné à cause d'une blessure. A noter aussi une nouvelle association française, Virginie sarpaux et Mathilde Giordano.
