L'équipe Néo zelandaise Hommes Kirk PITMAN et Jason LOCCHEAD a battu les Américains Paul Baxter et Adam Roberts lors de la finale de l'Open de Wellington. Les brésilennes Camilinha SALDANHA-Lili MAESTRINI (Championne du Monde des moins de 21 ans) ont battu l'équipe de Nouvelle-Zélande, Anna SCARLETT-Susan BLUNDELL dans la finale de femme. Le tournoi s'est déroulée dans des conditions venteuses difficiles durant les 2 jours rendant compliqué le service et la passe et l'équipe Homme de Nouvelle-Zélande, qui remporte son 3ème tournoi du National Tour, a particulièrement brillé sur ces deux aspects du jeu.

The New Zealand’s men’s team of Kirk PITMAN and Jason LOCHHEAD beat Americans Paul Baxter and Adam Roberts in the final and Brazil’s Camilinha SALDANHA and Lili MAETRINI (U-21 World Champions) beat New Zealand’s Anna SCARLETT and Susan BLUNDELL in the women’s final.
The two-day tournament in blustery conditions placed emphasis on controlled passing and serving.
The New Zealand men’s team shone in both these aspects.
