Swatch World Tour - Berlin Grand Slam - Etrange Finale Hommes / Strange Men's Final

Après une des 2 demi finales écourtée pour blessure de Julius BRINK, on a assisté à quelque chose de très rare : un Match pour la 3ème Place qui n'a pas eu lieu et une Finale qui n'a pas été au bout du fait de l'impossibilité pour Eric KORENG de finir le match tellement la chaleur sur le central était insupportable. Bilan sur 4 matchs seulement la demi finale entre MARCIO-FABIO et DALHAUSSER-ROGERS a été au bout. Et pourtant ces matchs nous promettaient un grand spectacle car les 4 équipes restantes ont fait un tournoi d'une qualité technique et physique exceptionnelle.

Pour finir c'est finalement les brésiliens MARCIO-FABIO qui remportent le Smart Grand Slam devant les allemands KORENG-KLEMPERER - tête de série n°24 et wild card - qui ont réussi un super parcours en battant tour à tour LAMBERT-METZGER, MAASEIDE-HORREM, LIONE-VARNIER, BARSOUK-KOLODINSKY, FRANCO-CUNHA et BRINK-DIECKMANN (même s'ils avaient perdu contre eux en match de Poule).

After one of the 2 semi finals be shortened for Julius BRINK's wound, we attended something very rare: a Match for the 3rd Place which did not take place and one Finale which was not at the end because the impossibility for Eric KORENG to finish the match due at the heat oh the central court.

Conclusion : on 4 matches only the semi final between MARCIO-FABIO and DALHAUSSER-ROGERS was in the rear. Nevertheless these matches promised us a big show because the 4 remaining teams made a tournament of an exceptional technical and physical quality.

It's finally the Brazilians MARCIO-FABIO which won the Smart Grand Slam in front of German KORENG-KLEMPERER - head of series n°24 and wild card - which made a success of a great tournament by beating alternately LAMBERT-METZGER, MAASEIDE-HORREM, LIONE-VARNIER, BARSOUK-KOLODINSKY, FRANCO-CUNHA and BRINK-DIECKMANN (even if they had lost against them in Pool).
